We can say, The heaven of wildlife is SriLanka. Sri Lanka is an island country located off the southern coast Of India. National language of Sri Lanka is Sinhala; Tamil. Largest city is Colombo. Sri Lanka has 103 Rivers. The longest of these is the Mahaweli river, extending 335 kilometres. These waterways give rise to 51 natural waterfalls of 10 metres or more. The highest is Bambarakanda Falls, with a height of 263 metres.
Serendib, Ceylon, Taprobane, Paradise, The Pearl of Indian Ocean were the tagline and now this beautiful island has been crowned as "Wonder Of Asia", "teardrops" and "Mango". ➤ Minneriya National Park :- This National park is one of the best places in the country to see wild elephants, whice are often presents in huge numbers. Dominated by the ancient Minneriya wewa, the park has plenty of scrub, forest and wetlands in its 88.9 sq km to also provide shelter for toque macaques, sambar deer, buffalo, crocodiles and leopards.
➤ Dambana Village :- This village is located 19km north east of Mahiyangana bordering the Maduru Oya sanctuary is home to the indigenous "Vedda" community numbering close to 1000 individuals. The natural habitat of these people, whose livelihood once depended solely on hunting, was confined to the forest. However during the recent decades, they have been shifting in a slow transformation into Chena dry land for cultivation. Over and above the transition, these aborigines of Sri Lanka have begun to intermarry with the Sinhalese villagers living in the region surrounding Dambana. The total extinction of their traditions of hunting for food, cooking in open fire with a group, collecting Bees Honey, their songs and dances has now become a rare possibility.
➤ Habarana Village :- Bullock Cart is the ancient Sri Lanka's one of major transportation system and still some villages of Sri Lanka using Bullock Cart as transportation. You can experience traditional Sri Lankans transportation system and meantime you will experience green paddy fields in Harbarana Area.
➤ Jetavanaramaya :- The Jetavanaramaya stupa was built after the destruction of Maha Vihara which clearly demonstrates the clashes between Mahayana Buddhism and Theravada Buddhism concepts in Sri Lanka. King Mahasena is remembered is history as a rebellious one for his elimination of Mahavihara and Mahayana concepts and also forcing penalties on anyone who offered alms to the monks in Mahaviharas. It is on those very premises of Mahavihara, that the current Jetavanaramaya built.
➤ Nuwara Eliya :- Nuwara Eliya district is famous for Tea Plantation and the cool and moist climate are factors for the Tea leavers to thrive on. Areas such as Hatton, Talawakele, Maskeliya are around Nuwara Eliya and Tea grown in this region in this region has a high market and is in good demand worldwide.
➤ Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharya :- The significance of Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharya as the most sacred worshipping places of the Buddhists in Sri Lanka can be explained by the visit of mighty Buddha. Kelaniya has been a very large city in the past with Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharya as its largest and most mesmerizing temples of Sri Lanka.
➤ Food of Sri Lanka :- Foods in Sri Lanka can be hot or very mild or can be combination being very much a question of individual preference. Sri Lankan food is unique for their Culture. Many Sinhala food items are derived from Chena cultivation. Sri Lankan cuisine plays a vital role in the islander's life from the most auspicious Sinhala/ Hindu New Year to normal day-to-day practices.
They make milk rice and special sweets with coconut milk, floor and Honey at cultural festivals. It is recognized as one of the sixty-four type of art, "Siu Seta Kakawa". ➤ Ramayana Sites in Sri Lanka :- One of the most important literary works of ancient India. The Ramayana, is an ancient Sanskrit epic, consists of 7 chapters (Kanda), plays an important role in the Hindu canon attributed to the poet Valmiki which narrates the story of Rama's wife Sita being abducted by Ravana, the demon ( Rakshasa) king of Lanka.
According to the Ramayana, king Ravana brought Sita Devi from India in a "Pushpaka Vimana" which is widely known in Sri Lanka as the "Dandu Monara Yanthranaya", or large peacock Machine in Sinhala. The Ramayana has mesmerized many generations, and had a deep impact on art and culture in the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia.
For over thousands of years, the Ramayana, epic of Asia, has had an unshakeable hold on the beliefs of vast multitudes of Asia's teaming millions. As diverse span of humanity as Kashmiri pandits and Cambodion fishermen, it is the universal heritage of all humanity.
